Dr PT Chandramouli, Eminent Psychiatrist passes away at 92
Hyderabad: Eminent Psychiatrist and senior Sangh Karyakarta Dr P T Chandramouli passed away at his residence in Jubilee Hills recently. He was 92.
Chandramouli had retired as Superintendent of Institute of Mental Health, where he was instrumental in setting up PG courses in Psychiatric Medicine.
He plunged himself into social service after his retirement.
Chandramouli was a Fellow of Indian Psychiatric Society (FIPS) and was a founding Secretary of the AP Chapter of Indian Psychiatric Society.
He came from a humble background from Chittoor District and was born to K. Thiruvengadam a renowned Scholar and Harikatha Bhagavathar.

Chandramouli was a self made man and worked his way through his medical studies when he was employed with Andhra Pradesh government.
He went on study leave to qualify himself with a Diploma in Psychiatry and later a Doctor of Medicine Degree from the National Institute of Mental Health, Bangalore.
The Senior Sangh Karyakarta had served as All India President of National Medicos Organisation for two terms.
Chandramouli was a philanthropist since his youth and served the poor in his capacity as a Doctor.
He donated generously to various institutions including the Ramakrishna Math and the Sathya Sai Seva Samithi.
He was always devoted to the cause of Sangh and made his time for the service of the nation through the Sangh.
Chandramouli became a karyakarta of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh during Emergency while he became a Swayamsevak a few years before that.
