UP NEET MDS Counselling 2026 round 2 registrations begin, check complete schedule, guidelines

According to the schedule issued by the DGME, the Round 2 counselling process will begin with online registration from September 18, 2026, while the seat allotment result is scheduled to be declared on September 25, 2026.

The schedule has been issued in continuation of the timetable released by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), New Delhi, for NEET MDS counselling. Candidates seeking to participate in the second round can complete their online registration from 11:00 AM on September 18 to 11:00 AM on September 22, 2026.

During the same period, candidates will also have to deposit the prescribed registration fee and security fee. The payment facility will remain available from 11:00 AM on September 18 until 2:00 PM on September 22.

Once the registration and fee-payment process concludes, DGME will declare the Round 2 merit list on September 22, 2026. The choice-filling window will open at 5:00 PM on September 22 and remain available until 5:00 PM on September 24, 2026.

The Round 2 seat allotment result will be declared on September 25, 2026. Successful candidates will subsequently be able to download their allotment letters and complete the admission process from September 26 to October 1, 2026. Below is the detailed schedule-

Along with this, DGME Uttar Pradesh has also issued a detailed set of instructions for candidates participating in the second round of UP NEET MDS 2026 online counselling, outlining rules related to seat allotment, choice filling, upgradation, security money, reporting and admission to government and private dental colleges.

Candidates have been advised to carefully understand the counselling rules before filling and locking their choices, as decisions taken during this stage may affect seats already secured in the previous round. Below are the complete instructions-

Necessary guidelines regarding online counselling of the second cycle under UP NEET MDS-2026-

GUIDELINES

1 Seat allocation in the second round of counselling will be based on the merit list of the second round.

2 The candidates who are not allotted and admitted in the first round of counselling will not be required to deposit the security amount again to participate in the second round of counselling.

3 If the candidates allotted in the first round of counselling do not take admission or resign after admission, then there is a provision for free exit for the candidates. Therefore, if such candidates wish to participate in the second round of counselling, they are not required to deposit the security amount again.

4 During choice filling in the second round of counselling, the vacant/not reported and resigned seats of the first round will be displayed to the candidates as clear-cut vacancies. In addition to the above vacancies, the option of Seat Against Cancellation (SAC) will also be displayed. SAC seats are a type of virtual vacancies. If the seat of a previously admitted candidate is upgraded, then as per the rules, his/her seat will be allotted to another candidate on the basis of merit and choice.

5 It is mandatory for the candidate to lock the choice after filling the choice. In case of not locking the choice, the candidate will not be included in the seat allotment process, for which the candidate himself will be solely responsible.

6 If a candidate is allocated a different seat based on their re-allocation option, the previously allocated seat will automatically become vacant and be allocated to another candidate. In the absence of re-allocation, the candidate's previously occupied seat will remain unchanged.

7 The candidate must ensure that for re-allotment, other options/choices are filled only after leaving the option of the previously admitted seat; otherwise, in case the previously admitted seat is re-allotted, the candidate will have to appear at the nodal centre and complete the admission process as before.

8 Candidates must secure admission to seats allotted to government and private dental colleges through the second round of counselling; otherwise, the entire security deposit will be forfeited. Such candidates will be eligible to participate in the third round of counselling only after depositing the security deposit again.

9 If the candidates admitted in the first round of counselling for Government and private sector dental colleges do not take admission after re-allotment in the second round of counselling, then the entire security amount deposited by the candidate will be confiscated.

10 After allotment through the second round of counselling, the candidates allotted to Government sector colleges will have to appear at the concerned Dental College/University and the candidates allotted to private sector colleges will have to appear at the concerned Nodal Centre to complete their admission process.

11 Candidates allotted to private dental colleges must deposit the government-prescribed tuition fee in the form of a CTS bank draft issued in favour of the Director General, Medical Education & Training, Uttar Pradesh, payable at Lucknow at the concerned nodal centre; otherwise their admission will be automatically cancelled. The government-prescribed tuition fee and the fee structure of minority institutions are available on the departmental websites.

12 It is mandatory for the allotted candidates to undergo medical examination by the Medical Board constituted at the Dental College/Nodal Centre.

13 After receiving allotment/re-allotment from the second round of counselling, all the candidates will report to the concerned Dental College after completing the admission process at the concerned Nodal Centre.

14 The entire counselling process across all rounds will be conducted in accordance with the provisions contained in the Government Order dated 23.07.2026 regarding policy formulation for NEET PG 2026 and the information brochure. Therefore, candidates are advised to personally review the Government Order and the brochure before participating in the counselling process.
