Chhattisgarh begins NEET 2026 special stray vacancy round counselling for 72 MBBS, BDS seats- check details

Chhattisgarh: In accordance with the schedule issued by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), and following Stray Vacancy Round for the 2026 NEET UG admissions, a 'Special Stray Vacancy Round' is being conducted to fill the remaining vacant seats in private and government medical colleges in the state of Chhattisgarh.
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for new registration, and from previously registered eligible candidates for the online selection of institutions (choice filling). Before proceeding with the online application and choice filling, all applicants must thoroughly study the "Chhattisgarh Medical, Dental, and Physiotherapy Undergraduate Admission Rules, 2025" (specifically the provisions regarding reservations, the counselling process, bonds, etc.)—issued under reference number RULE-503/30/2025/MED—which are available on the official websites of DME Chhattisgarh.
According to the notification issued by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Chhattisgarh, in this regard, fresh online registration and choice filling will begin today, i.e November 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM, and continue until November 5, 2026, at 11:59 PM. Below is the detailed schedule-
CHHATTISGARH NEET UG 2026 SPECIAL STRAY VACANCY ROUND SCHEDULE
S.NO | PARTICULARS | DATE & TIMINGS |
1 | Online application and registration | November 3, 2026, 11:00 AM to November 5, 2026, 11:59 PM |
2 | Choice filling and locking | November 3, 2026, 11:00 AM to November 5, 2026, 11:59 PM |
IMPORTANT POINTS
1 In accordance with Rule 7(xv) of the Chhattisgarh Medical, Dental, and Physiotherapy Undergraduate Admission Rules, 2025, only those previously registered candidates who were not allotted a seat in any of the earlier rounds, along with eligible candidates who register afresh, shall be permitted to participate in this round.
2 Candidates who were previously registered and are eligible must select their institutions on the aforementioned date. Since the institution selections previously made by the candidates have become void—meaning the selection status is now blank—it is mandatory to re-select institutions in order to participate in the Special Stray Vacancy Round of counselling. If candidates fail to select institutions, they will not be eligible for seat allotment during the Special Stray Vacancy Round.
3 Candidates who have already registered and previously selected only government medical colleges—but now wish to include private medical colleges in the upcoming counselling—must pay the difference between the registration fee prescribed for private medical colleges and the amount already deposited. Only after making this additional payment will these candidates be able to select private medical colleges.
4 For the Special Stray Vacancy Round of counselling, the facility for new registration, as well as for editing online applications by previously registered eligible candidates, will be available free of charge until the final application deadline. However, certain entries in the online application—specifically those derived directly from the examination result data provided by the Central Government—as well as the mobile number and e-mail address entered by the candidate, cannot be modified.
5 If a candidate fails to take admission after seat allotment during the counselling for the Special Stray Vacancy Round, or if they take admission but subsequently relinquish the seat, the registration fee deposited by the candidate shall be forfeited. (Refer to the Chhattisgarh Medical, Dental, and Physiotherapy Undergraduate Admission Rules, 2025.)
Therefore, candidates are advised to select only the college in which they wish to seek admission.
6 If seats remain vacant after the Special Stray Vacancy Round, a fresh seat allotment may be conducted based on the merit list issued for the Special Stray Vacancy Round and the choices filled by the candidates.
7 The entire counselling process (payment of registration fees, selection of institutions and subjects, choice locking, etc.) is carried out by the candidate personally. Therefore, should a candidate’s registration or seat allotment be cancelled due to the provision of incomplete or incorrect information, the sole responsibility for such an outcome shall rest with the candidate; neither this office nor the counselling committee shall be held liable in any manner.
8 The allocation of seats in all government and private medical and dental colleges is carried out by a counselling committee constituted by the Office of the Commissioner of Medical Education, Chhattisgarh; therefore, do not fall for any fraudulent claims by individuals or organisations promising admission.
Along with the counselling notice, the authority has released the Round 5 seat matrix, showing 72 vacant seats across medical and dental colleges in the state. The seat matrix attached to the notification lists 72 clear vacancies, comprising 14 MBBS seats and 58 BDS seats.
All 14 MBBS vacancies are available under the Management Quota in four private medical colleges. The BDS vacancies are distributed across seven dental colleges under the Government Quota and Management Quota. Below is the detailed seat matrix-
