NEET 2026 re-exam dress code, biometric verification, exception protocol released, Check complete details here

New Delhi: Ahead of the NEET UG 2026 Re-Examination, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued detailed advisories regarding dress code, permissible items, biometric verification, and security protocols to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of the examination across the country.
NTA is going to conduct the NEET UG 2026 Examination on 21 June 2026 at examination centres across India.
All candidates appearing for the examination are advised to carefully note the following instructions regarding dress code and permissible items-
1 All candidates are permitted to carry transparent water bottles inside the examination hall.
2 Candidates can carry their admit card in transparent plastic pouches to avoid damage due to rain.
3 Candidates are permitted to wear articles or objects of faith (including religious symbols, kalawas, turbans, hijabs, or similar items), subject to reporting at the examination centre well in advance to facilitate thorough frisking by examination staff.
4 While light clothing is preferred, candidates may wear full-sleeve garments or woollen if required, subject to reporting to the centre well in advance to enable thorough frisking.
5 Slippers and low-heeled footwear are the preferred category of footwear. Candidates wearing high-heeled footwear may be subjected to additional checks.
6 Candidates are strictly prohibited from carrying any electronic devices, including mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth accessories, earphones, or any communication device, inside the examination hall.
7 Metallic items, large belt buckles, heavy jewellery, and accessories are not permitted inside the examination hall.
8 All candidates will be subject to mandatory frisking before entry. Candidates are advised to report to the centre at the scheduled reporting time to facilitate smooth security checks without undue stress.
Therefore, through the public notice, NTA has requested all the candidates to adhere to the advisory and cooperate fully with the examination staff for the smooth and secure conduct of the re-examination. Non-compliance with the dress code and security protocols may result in denial of entry.

Meanwhile, through another notice, NTA has informed that in accordance with the enhanced security protocols in place for the re-examination, all candidates are informed of the following biometric verification requirements and exception provisions.
As per the public notice, on the day of the re-examination, after the completion of the mandatory frisking process, every candidate is required to undergo biometric verification (Fingerprint/facial recognition) before being permitted to enter the examination room. This is a security requirement and shall be completed before the commencement of the examination.
