New Delhi: In a major update for candidates seeking admissions through Round 2 of the NEET UG Counselling 2026, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released three separate seat matrices covering clear vacancies, virtual vacancies and newly added seats for MBBS, BDS and BSc Nursing courses.
According to the seat matrices, a total of 11,302 clear-vacancy seats and 12,283 virtual-vacancy seats, while another 659 seats have been newly added for Round 2.

The seat lists cover government medical and dental colleges, AIIMS institutions, Central Universities, Deemed Universities, ESIC institutions and B.Sc Nursing colleges under different quotas and categories.
Seats are listed category-wise, including Open, OBC, EWS, SC, ST and applicable PwD categories, so candidates need to check the actual category attached to each vacancy rather than relying only on the institute-level seat count.
For NEET UG aspirants entering Round 2, the release of seat vacancies makes careful choice filling particularly important. Rather than focusing only on the most obvious colleges, candidates should review all three matrices closely and arrange choices according to their genuine order of preference.
