UP NEET Counselling 2026: Round 1 begins afresh after HC order on 91 percent reservation- schedule, merit list, seat matrix OUT

These directions were issued by the Court on the plea challenging the reservation arrangement for State-Quota seats in four government medical colleges- Ambedkar Nagar, Kannauj, Saharanpur, and Jalaun — for the current academic session.
Revised counselling schedule
With the first round now being conducted afresh, candidates who had participated in the earlier counselling process will have to complete the choice filling and locking process again within the revised timeline.
In an official notice, the DGME on September 18 said all candidates must complete fresh choice filling and locking within the prescribed period. Counselling will be conducted on the basis of the merit list already published for the first round, and seat allotment will be made only to candidates who complete the choice filling and locking process.
The revised schedule applies to MBBS and BDS state quota seats in government and private medical and dental colleges, institutions and medical universities across Uttar Pradesh. DGME has stated that all other rules and conditions of the counselling process will remain unchanged.
"The admission of all candidates who previously received an allotment on 07.09.2026 shall be deemed invalid. Choice-filling for the rescheduled first round of counseling will be based solely on the merit list issued for the first round. Allotment for the rescheduled first round of counseling will be granted only to those candidates who have completed the choice-filling and locking process within the stipulated timeframe as per the prescribed schedule. All other terms and conditions regarding the rescheduled first round of counseling shall remain unchanged. All information related to UP NEET UG-2026 counseling will be uploaded on Departmental website https://upneet.gov.in and www.dgme.up.gov.in," the notice said.
