Kakinada: In an unfortunate incident, a second-year MBBS student of Rangaraya Medical College in Kakinada allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan in his hostel room.
The reason behind the student's extreme step remains unclear, as no suicide note was found at the scene. Meanwhile, the police are currently investigating all possible angles to determine the exact cause.

Even though efforts were made to save the student, the doctors declared him dead before his arrival. The deceased hailed from a small village near Narasapuram in West Godavari district and was a 22-year-old student who was studying medical course at the college.
As per the Hans India news report, the incident took place around 1 am when the student reportedly locked himself inside his room. After his classmates grew concerned over his prolonged absence, they went to check up on him only to find the door locked. After repeated knocks, they received no response from the student. Following this, they forced the door open and found the student hanging from the ceiling.
They immediately rushed him to a local hospital and informed the hostel staff about the incident. However, unfortunately, the student succumbed to his injuries en route.
After his death, his parents and police were informed about the matter. After receiving the information, the police reached the spot to conduct a preliminary investigation but found no suicide note from the scene. They then sent the body for postmortem.
A case under the relevant section of BNS was registered and an investigation is underway. The student's sudden tragic death has left his family, friends and college authorities in shock.
