Tripura constitutes committee to fix Private Medical College Fees
Tripura- Recently, a Permanent committee has been formed to fix the fee structure for admission to various courses in all the private medical colleges in the state of Tripura. This has been announced through a notification by the Director of Medical Education (DME) Tripura.
According to the notification, the Permanent Committee has been constituted by the Tripura Government as per the direction of the Hon'ble Supreme Court. The Committee is headed by Hon’ble Justice S.C. Das who was also the former Judge of Tripura High Court. Along with this, 4 members are also included in the committee to fix the fee structure for admission in various courses in all private Medical colleges for Tripura.
The members include the Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Tripura who is the Member-Secretary, Dr Anup Kumar Barman, Member, MAC of NMC & President, Assam Medical Council (Nominated by National Medical Commission), Mr B. K. Roy, IPS (Retd.) (Nominated by Chairperson) and Mr Ratan Kumar Das, Chartered Accountant (Nominated by Chairperson) who is the Member.
The notification further informed that each private Medical institution has to place its proposed fee structure of all courses well in advance before the Permanent Committee at the beginning of each academic year along with relevant documents and books of accounts for scrutiny by the Permanent Committee.
Meanwhile, Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that quota seats at TMC will have to deposit an amount of Rs. 2 Lac only irrespective of category. The security deposit will be refunded to Candidates within 3 (three) months of completion of the Counselling except for those candidates as described for forfeiture where the security deposit will stand forfeited.
