Bengaluru: Three medical students feared washed away in lake, search on
Bengaluru: Three medical students of Dayananda Sagar Institute of Medical Education and Research in Kanakapura of Ramanagara district who are believed to have been washed away in a lake close to Bengaluru are being sought by the Fire Force and Emergency Services personnel.
According to police, the students are suspected to be washed away in Mavattur lake near Kanakapura. Sachin (26), Javed Ahmad Mulla (26), and Niranjan (26) are students of the Dayananda Sagar Institute of Medical Education and Research in Kanakapura of Ramanagara district.

Their friends told police that the trio had left the college campus on Monday, September 12, at noon and did not return. The students are suspected to have gone to Mavattur lake and washed away while swimming.
Following the missing complaint, the police found the bike of one of the students near Mavattur lake. Mavattur police have lodged a case in connection with the case. The lake is filled to its maximum capacity and overflowing owing to heavy rains. Further investigation is on.
The city of Bengaluru was flooded due to heavy rains in many parts of the city, with major areas in the north, south, and east of Bengaluru reported to be inundated, with about a feet of water in many areas. On September 6, traffic bottlenecks, power outages, and flooded houses were reported in the city. People who were going to workplaces were stranded, with many IT companies issuing work-from-home directives as the routes to offices were under water.
Every year, in the months of September and October, Bengaluru is highly susceptible to flooding. Recently, a 22-year-old woman negotiating a flooded Whitefield Main Road in the Sarjapura area had died due to electrocution. She was returning to her home from work on her scooter when the incident took place, as she lost her balance and was electrocuted after touching an electric pole.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported an incident where a 20-year-old MBBS student had drowned in a pond at Vilgam Kupwara, whose body was retrieved after hours of hectic efforts by police and locals. The student had gone missing while bathing inside a pond at Vilgam Kupwara on the same day at noon.
