Bengaluru doctor alleges Rs 24 lakh gold jewellery missing from bank locker

Doctor Reports Missing Jewellery from Bank Locker in RMV Extension
Bengaluru: A 57-year-old doctor has filed a police complaint alleging that gold jewellery worth Rs 24 lakh went missing from her bank locker in Bengaluru's RMV Extension.
According to the complaint, the doctor holds a savings account and a locker at a nationalised bank branch in the area. Ahead of her son’s wedding, she had accessed the locker on February 27 to withdraw jewellery for the celebrations.

However, during her next visit on March 12 to deposit the remaining ornaments, she discovered that the plastic box containing the jewellery was missing. As per the Deccan Herald, she informed senior officials at the bank, after which the manager checked the CCTV footage from March 3. The footage reportedly showed the customer entering the locker room carrying a jewellery box and a small brown bag, but returning with only the brown bag in her hand.
Unsatisfied with the bank’s response, the doctor approached the Sadashivanagar Police and filed a formal complaint, seeking action against the bank staff and clarity on the missing valuables.
Police officials have initiated an investigation and have asked the bank to provide complete CCTV footage for verification.
In a separate incident reported earlier, two men were arrested for allegedly posing as doctors at the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital.
