Hyderabad: A cardiologist allegedly committed suicide by injecting an unidentified poison using an intravenous drip at his residence in SR Nagar on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as a 29 year old doctor, who was working as a cardiologist at a private hospital in Ameerpet.
According to the police, the doctor did not leave any suicide note. They attributed the reason behind the suicide to be personal problems.
According to a media report in Times of India, the 29 year old bachelor was a native of Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh. He lived at a rented place in BK Guda, SR Nagar.
On Friday morning, he spoke to a friend over the phone in detail, and said that he was not feeling mentally well. After a while, he disconnected the call. However, when his friend attempted calling him again, the doctor did not respond, said R Nagar inspector K Saidulu.
Eventually, the friend alerted a colleague of the doctor who then rushed to the doctor's house.
The Hans India reports that the colleague who went to the doctor's house found him lying unconscious with a saline bottle in his hand. He was immediately taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.
The inspector stated, "The cardiologist was found lying unconscious with an intravenous drip connected to his arm. He was immediately rushed to hospital, where he succumbed while undergoing treatment. Family members did not give any specific reasons for the suicide. We suspect that some personal problems could be the reason."
The doctor's father had filed a complaint after the incident, on the basis of which a case was registered under section 174 of CrPc. The police are investigating the case. The body was shifted for a post-mortem examination.
