Days after going missing, doctor found dead near Cauvery River

Mandya- In a shocking incident, the body of a 28-year-old doctor, who had been missing for three days, was found on Friday from the banks of the Cauvery River near Muttathi in Halaguru Hobli of Karnataka.
Police suspect that he died by suicide after allegedly consuming poison.
The deceased was a resident of Makanahalli village in T. Narsipura taluk of Mysuru district and was working at a private clinic in Kestur village, Maddur taluk.
According to the Vartha Bharathi news report, the doctor went missing on Tuesday, following which his mother, Annapurnamma, lodged a missing complaint at Kestur police station. After this, the police started a search operation to find them.
During the search operation, the police traced his motorcycle abandoned near the Forest Department guest house in Muttathi. Acting on this lead, the police searched the surrounding forest and the riverbank area, and subsequently recovered his body nearby.
A preliminary investigation was launched immediately after the body was found, revealing that the deceased had died after consuming poison. However, the underlying reason and circumstances behind the suspected suicide have not yet been ascertained.
A case has been registered at the Halaguru police station, and further investigation is currently underway.
