Doctor attacked, robbed by armed assailants in Goraya

Goraya: In a shocking incident in Goraya, a doctor was allegedly attacked and robbed by armed assailants, sparking serious concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.
The incident has intensified fear among residents, many of whom claim that crime in the area has been on the rise in recent times.
According to news reports, the doctor, who operates a clinic in Mukhtiar Kalan and lives in Kamalpur village, was returning home when he was intercepted by two men riding a motorcycle. The assailants reportedly stopped him on the way and assaulted him with sharp-edged weapons, leaving him injured and vulnerable.

After attacking the victim, the accused allegedly fled with his belongings, including a mobile phone, cash amounting to approximately Rs 5,000–Rs 6,000, and other valuables. The injured doctor later approached the Goraya Police Station along with members of a doctors’ union to lodge a complaint.
Speaking to Tribune India, Police officials said they have received the complaint and are looking into the matter. An investigation has been initiated, and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the accused.
As the investigation continues, the case has once again highlighted urgent concerns about safety and policing in the region.
Medical Dialogues had previously reported that a woman doctor was allegedly robbed at knifepoint by two unidentified youths, who then drove away with her SUV near the Bhamian Road area in Ludhiana. According to the news reports, the incident occurred between 7 pm and 8 pm, while the doctor was learning to drive her white Hyundai Creta. As per the complaint, she had reached a spot near a local cremation ground and was attempting to reverse the vehicle to turn back when the assailants, who were riding a motorcycle, intercepted her.
