Doctor leaves bandage in patient's abdomen post surgery, booked after death of patient
Amroha: In an alleged case of medical negligence, a doctor of a private hospital in Uttar Pradesh's Amroha has been booked after a female patient died due to a bandage left inside her abdomen during surgery.
Amroha's Chief Medical Officer, Dr Rajiv Singhal, said that a district three-member probe team has been formed to investigate the matter.
After the incident, the local people gathered to protest outside the hospital and demanded the immediate arrest of the doctor who was involved in the operation.
An FIR has been lodged against the doctor on the complaint of the deceased woman's husband.
The woman, a mother of two, had died on Friday.
Her family alleged that the doctor left a portion of the bandage inside her abdomen when he operated on her.

The husband of the deceased woman said he took his wife to a private hospital where she underwent surgery around a month ago.
Mahendra Saini, a resident of Imliwala Mohalla of the Amroha Dehat police station area, had admitted his wife to Paisal Nursing Home on 21 November 2022. Radha's gall bladder was operated on in this hospital located in Pirgarh of the city. After seven days she was discharged, but there was no improvement in Radha's health after the operation, reports the NavBharat Times.
Officials said even after the operation, she could not get relief and she went back to the same hospital.
However, after a few days when there was still no relief, her kin took her to another private hospital in Bijnor where a CT scan was done, which the family alleged, showed the bandage in the abdomen.
Angered over the issue, the locals staged a protest on the streets demanding action against the doctor. They alleged that the woman died due to the medical negligence of the surgeon.
