Indian-origin Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr Anwar Sadath Passes Away in Dubai

Dubai: In an unfortunate incident, Dr Anwar Sadath, a renowned Indian-origin orthopaedic surgeon based in Dubai, passed away suddenly on Friday. He was 49 years old.

Dr Sadath was associated with Medcare Orthopaedics and Spine Hospital and also worked under the Aster DM Healthcare group. As per reports, Dr Sadath collapsed during his usual morning workout after experiencing discomfort. Despite efforts, he could not be revived.

He had more than 18 years of experience in the field of orthopaedics and was respected for his work in treating sports injuries, trauma surgeries, and fractures. He was a native of Kerala and is survived by his wife and three children, reports the Siasat Daily.

The news of his sudden death has left his patients, colleagues, and followers in deep shock. Many took to social media to express their condolences and share how much he meant to them, not just as a doctor, but as a kind and caring human being.

One of his long-time patients, Indian international handball player Vipin Kumar, paid an emotional tribute on Instagram. He wrote, “Grateful beyond words to Dr Anwar Sadath — one of the trusted hands who guided me through my recovery ahead of the World Masters Games. His swift diagnosis, calming presence, and patient-first approach gave me strength when I needed it most."

Vipin added that Dr Sadath’s support helped him recover from many injuries over the years, and that his kindness and clear communication always stood out. "Over the years, I’ve relied on him through various injuries — each time, his clarity and compassion stood out. Thank you, doctor, for care that healed beyond medicine," he added.

Dr Sadath completed his graduation from Thrissur Medical College, India, followed by an MS in Orthopaedics from SS Medical College, India. He worked earlier in West Fort Hospital, the Daya Hospital, Divine Hospital, Medical Trust Hospital, Kerala, Jubilee Mission Hospital, Kerala.

He was a member of the Kerala Orthopaedics Association and of the Indian Orthopaedics Association, and his area of expertise lied in the treatment of sports injuries, which include knee arthroscopy for meniscal pathologies, minimally invasive ACL/PCL reconstructions, knee instabilities, shoulder arthroscopies for instabilities, rotator cuff tears and impingement.
