Karnataka doctor, BS Yediyurappa's granddaughter found hanging inside her flat, suicide suspected
Bengaluru: In an unfortunate incident, former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa's granddaughter, a doctor by profession was allegedly found hanging from the ceiling fan inside her bedroom at her Vasant Nagar flat on Friday morning, police said.
According to police, the reason behind the extreme step taken by the 30-year old doctor working in MS Ramaiah hospital was not known immediately. She had completed her post graduation in general surgery in MS Ramaiah.

The doctor, daughter of the BJP leader's second daughter Padmavathi, was married to Dr Neeraj S, a radiologist with the same private hospital, in 2018, police told PTI.
On Friday morning, Neeraj left for the duty at around 8 AM and it is suspected that she ended her life two hours later. The matter came to light when the maid came to the house and knocked on the door repeatedly but in vain.
She informed Dr Neeraj, who too called her on phone but there was no response, the police said, adding, the door was then opened by force.
Preliminary investigations revealed that it was a suicide case. Using a veil, the doctor had hanged herself from the ceiling fan of her bedroom. Her nine month old baby boy was fast asleep in another room. Police told TOI that they did not come across a death note from the place of the incident.
The body was later shifted to the Bowring Hospital where the post-mortem was performed.
According to a recent media report in The Indian Express, Dr K V Sathish, one of the doctors who conducted an autopsy on the doctor at the city's Bowring Hospital, told the media there was a mark on her neck.
"A team of three doctors conducted the postmortem, the report of which has been submitted to the tehsildar, and the body has been handed over to the family after the postmortem," he added.
Police sources told TIE that the doctor seemed to have been suffering from mental distress and that her family suspected personal reasons behind her suicide.
Learning about the incident, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, some ministers and senior BJP functionaries rushed to Yediyurappa's house to console the bereaved family members, BJP sources said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former prime minister H D Devegowda, former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman talked to Yediyurappa on the phone, said a statement from Yediyurappa's office.
