Maha: Doctor robbed of jewellery, cash worth lakhs by masked man
Satara: A doctor from Maharashtra's Satara district was threatened and robbed after masked men entered his house and stole jewellery and cash worth Rs 34 lakhs in the early hours of Monday.
The doctor is a resident of Karad town in Sitara district. The men stole gold and silver jewellery worth Rs 19 lakhs and cash worth Rs 15 lakhs.

Officials from Karad police station said, "Six to seven people entered the house owned by Doctor M P Shinde and threatened to kill the family members."
Speaking to Times of India, Deputy Superintendent Amol Thakur said, "We have studied a similar case like this incident. Teams have been deployed and the case will most probably be solved in 48 hours."
A similar incident was reported by the Medical Dialogues team from Tamil Nadu's Anna Nagar a few months back where a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) was robbed by a three-member masked gang who looted nearly 50 sovereigns of gold ornaments and 24 lakh in cash from his house. The doctor was allegedly tied up by the gang who trespassed into his house carrying sharp objects in search of valuable ornaments. After stealing the gold ornaments and cash, the gang fled the scene. The doctor was alone at his house and was sleeping in his room when suddenly he heard the sound of some intruders breaking into his house and woke up. In an attempt to confront the gang, the doctor was outnumbered and as a result, was tied up with a rope while the gang was robbing the house. While trying to confront them, the doctor had a cut injury on his hand when he accidentally grabbed the knife the gang was wielding.
