Mangaluru surgeon drowns to death at Someshwar beach
Mangaluru: In a tragic incident, the dead body of a 30-year-old doctor has been found by the police near the seashore at Rudrapade, Someshwar few hours after he drowned at night yesterday while trying to save his colleague from drowning.
The doctor who went to enjoy the views of Someshwar beach with his three other colleagues at night tragically died after his feet slipped and he drowned in the sea at Rudrapade on September 3.
The deceased, a resident of Ramanagar in Bengaluru was working as a surgeon at A J Hospital, Mangaluru.
The incident took place at night around 11 p.m. when the doctor along with another doctor and three other interns went to the beach to hang out. As they were taking a stroll at Rudrapade, his colleague lost his balance, slipped on the boulder and fell into the sea.

Hearing his screams, the doctor was peeping into the sea from the rock to see what had happened to him. However, the moment the doctor stepped forward to save his friend, he too lost his balance and fell into the sea. He was immediately swept away by the sea, Daijiworld reports
It came to light that by holding onto a small rock in the sea, his friend survived, but unfortunately, the doctor drowned.
Following this, the members immediately alerted the police and a rescue operation team reached the spot with local swimmers. Although an overnight search was conducted by the police along with the fire brigade team, the doctor was nowhere to be found.
His dead body was discovered the next day on Monday morning near the seashore.
Police have registered a case and an investigation is underway.
