Paediatrician dies on spot in car-bus collision in Tamil Nadu

Madurai: In a fatal road accident, a 42-year-old pediatrician attached to Madurai Government Rajaji Hospital died on the spot after his car collided with a government bus on Monday.The deceased has been identified as Dr Karthikeyan. Madurai: In a fatal road accident, a 42-year-old pediatrician attached to Madurai Government Rajaji Hospital died on the spot after his car collided with a government bus on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Dr Karthikeyan. He worked as a pediatrician at Madurai Government Rajaji Hospital. The doctor lived in Palayamkottai NGO Colony in Tirunelveli district. Both, his father and wife are doctors too.

The unfortunate incident took place while the doctor was returning to Madurai from Tirunelveli in his car. Meanwhile, a government bus adjacent to the doctor's vehicle damaged the car's mirror and leaving scratches on the sides.
Enraged, the doctor tried to stop the bus that was heading to Madurai from Tirunelveli. However, in an attempt to overtake the bus near the Parambupatti petrol bunk, the car lost its control and collided head-on with another government bus coming on the opposite lane.
The car was dragged up to 50 feet before stopping. The doctor died on the spot and was trapped in the rubble, reports News18
As per a recent media report in India Today, the local people informed the police about the incident and a fire and rescue team was called who pulled out the body from the debris. The body was sent for autopsy.
The police are investigating the matter based on the CCTV footage available.
