Physiotherapist dies after speeding car skids in Mangaluru

Mangaluru: In a tragic incident, a 29-year-old physiotherapist posted at a private medical college hospital lost his life in a road accident after the car he was driving lost control and skidded on the rain-soaked road near Taretota in Nanthoor.

According to the police, the doctor was driving the car at high speed and due to the slippery road soaked with rain, the doctor lost control of his car, skidded, hit the divider and overturned two to three times.

The deceased has been identified as Dr Mohammad Amal, a native of Alappuzha, Kerala. He had recently completed his physiotherapy degree and had joined a private medical college hospital in Deralakatte.

Daijiworld reported that the accident happened around 11:45 pm on June 16 while Amal was driving his Ciaz car along with a female friend, who is a medical student from Kerala studying at Kanachur Medical College. The car was heading from Nanthoor towards Pumpwell when it skidded on the wet road near the National Highway Authority office.

Due to the high speed and slippery road conditions, the vehicle hit a divider, crashed into roadside metal grills, and overturned multiple times before landing back on the road.

While Amal suffered serious injuries, died on the spot and could not be taken to the hospital in time, his co-passenger received minor injuries and is currently admitted to a hospital. Doctors confirmed that she is out of danger.

A case has been registered in this regard, and an investigation is underway.

Medical Dialogues recently reported that two young doctors in their 20s serving at the Indian Naval Hospital, Kalyani, lost their lives in a road accident on the spot after a truck from behind ran over them while they were attempting to overtake it and a car.
