SCB Medical College PG Surgery Medico found dead, Police suspects Suicide
Cuttack: A PG medical student was found dead on the banks of the Mahanadi river near Dhabaleswar Gada under CDA-Phase-2 police limits on Tuesday.
The medico was a third-year PG student of the surgery department at the SCB Medical College and Hospital. He was reported to be missing since the morning of Monday, reports The New Indian Express.
Police recovered some sedative tablets and syringes lying near the body. Based on the circumstances, it is suspected that the medico may have committed suicide.

According to media reports, Some locals found his car abandoned on the Ring road near Fasi Thakurani shrine on the evening of Monday. They subsequently informed the police.
The police then took the car to the police station, identified the owner with the help of the registration number and informed his family members.
After the family members told the police that he was missing, they asked them to file a complaint. The people of the area, however, found a body on the river bank on Tuesday around 10 AM. They eventually informed the relatives.
Some sedative tablets and syringes were found near the body by the police. According to the IIC of CDA-Phase 2 police station Sandhya Rani Singh, the medico might have died by suicide as revealed by the circumstances. He might have taken the anaesthesia injection, reports the TNIE
The post-mortem report would reveal more information about the death. Some fellow students of the medico stated that he was going through depression in the past few days, the reason for which they are unaware, reports Odisha TV
The police are investigating the case further. Singh added that on Sunday, the medico had a fight with his partner. He told his wife that he is leaving for the hospital on Monday morning.
