Senior Kolkata Doctor allegedly jumps to death from 10th-floor terrace of her apartment
Kolkata: In a tragic incident, a senior Kolkata-based doctor allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the tenth-floor terrace of her apartment.
The incident took place at around 11:30 a.m. at an apartment of Bosepukur Road off the Kasba Connector on Tuesday. The medical practitioner was noticed walking on the terrace by the neighbors, who alerted the private security guards. However, despite the desperate attempts of the private guards to save her, she could not be saved.
As per a recent media account, the doctor has been identified as a 50-year-old resident of Bosepukur Road reportedly a schizophrenia patient who was staying alone at her apartment and was facing serious mental health issues. She often depended on her neighbors for her meals as well. The doctor was living alone in her flat for the past six years as her husband got settled in Malaysia and her son started pursuing education in Australia.
