Speaking to the Hindu, Police officers from the Koyilandy station said the three, who sustained severe injuries, were declared dead at the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital.
A team led by Vadakara DySP inspected the accident site. The electric scooter had a defect at the rear. Locals suspect that some other vehicle may have hit it from behind. Since there are no CCTV cameras here, no footage of the accident has been obtained. The police are conducting further investigations based on the suspicions of the locals, reports Kerala Kaumudi.
However, police have collected surveillance footage from nearby areas and are continuing their investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident, reports said.
This tragic incident once again highlights the importance of road safety.
