Two MBBS students rock to beats of Rasputin, video goes viral

This dance number comes as a breath of fresh air at a time when the country has been hit hard and is horror-stricken with the Coronavirus pandemic for more than one year. This one year has been especially difficult for all the healthcare workers across the country as they had to work tirelessly to help the nation cope up with the situation. Thus, in order to keep the spirits high, videos like these surely come at handy.

Mathrubhumi reports that the duo performed together on the medical college campus a week ago. Their decision to shoot the dance video was spontaneous when they accidentally met after the classes. Their inspiration for the video comes from the choreography of Vanesa Seco, as the medicos mentioned in their post. The duo practised the steps for a while and their friend Mushthak Ali captured the visuals on his mobile phone.

While Janaki, a native of Thiruvananthapuram, is a trained classical dancer, Naveen, a native of Mananthavady in Wayanad, learned dance from his classmates. Both the medicos are members of a 25-member dance group named 'Vikings' at the medical college campus, reports the daily.

Basking in the glory of fame, Janaki told Mathrubhumi, "We just wanted relief from the pressure from the exams. So, we choreographed the dance with our favourite song. We completed the shooting within 2 hours. Earlier also, we had done some experiments with shuffling dance. But it is for the first time, our dance video turned a super hit on social media."

After the video became viral, Naveen shared an artwork by a fan featuring the duo on his Insta handle and wrote, "We've heard over n over of being viral overnight and right now we are in a trance!!Right now we feel it."

"A usually dead phone of mine and a pretty not so frequently active social media user myself have luckily been on the buzz for the past few days. And yeah, the high of this buzz is fun!! Thank you everyone for the support and cheers. You guys mean a lot!" added the final year medico.

Meanwhile, the video became viral on other social media handles as well and a user shared the video on Twitter, where the video with the caption "Stylish dancing medicos" received almost 9000 likes and thousands of retweets.
