Father Muller Medical College and Hospital receives recognition for exceptional performing hospital under AB-PMJAY Scheme
The National Health Authority handed over the recognition certificate to Dr Kelvin Peter Pais, Liaison Officer FMCI & Incharge Department of Credit, who represented on the hospital's behalf.
Mangaluru: Marking a proud moment in the history of Father Muller Medical College Hospital on Independence day, the hospital has received recognition for exceptional performing hospital under AB-PMJAY (Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana) Scheme.
The recognition was provided during the independence day event at Nehru Maidan. The National Health Authority handed over the recognition certificate to Dr Kelvin Peter Pais, Liaison Officer FMCI & Incharge Department of Credit, who represented on the hospital's behalf.
Despite providing patients with the highest level of healthcare facilities, the hospital also maintains its charitable work with enthusiasm. The recognition would enable the hospital to work more diligently towards improving the facilities for the patients. With 100 points and 60.77% efficiency, the Fr Muller hospital has served a large number of patients under the AB-PMJAY Scheme (Ayushman Bharath).

The hospital has been provided with recognition out of all the private hospitals in the district as it has an outstanding record of better treatment facilities which satisfied the patients every time they visited the hospital.
Speaking at the event, Dr Yashaswini, District Coordinator D.K., Sampoorna Arogya Suraksha Trust, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka told Mangalorean, "We are happy to announce that this year on the occasion of independence day we will be presenting this award to Father Muller Medical College & Hospital, in the private hospital category from public hospitals."
Father Muller Charitable Institutions have been touching the lives of thousands of people for the last 136 long years. The institution founded by Fr. Augustus Muller in 1880 stands out as a hallmark of medical service and education in our country. With its motto of "Heal and Comfort", it is committed to bringing healthcare solace to the suffering humanity.
The hospital focuses on installing sophisticated precision equipment, non-invasive diagnosis and surgeries and other state-of-the-art techniques with quality and ethical service. It provides super speciality treatment with state-of-the-art facilities with experienced doctors following world-class health care practices. During the fiscal year (2021-2022), the Father Muller Charitable Institutions provided over Rs 55 crores in concessions to patients in need.
District Minister In-charge Sunil Kumar, MLA Mangalore South Vedvyas Kamath, Mayor Mangalore Premanand Shetty, DK Deputy Commissioner Dr K V Rajendra, Zilla Panchayat CEO Kumara and many others were present.
