Finance Department approves 300-Bed Hospital for Puttur Medical College

Puttur Medical College Project Gets Approval for 300-Bed Hospital
Mangaluru: A 300-bed hospital will soon be constructed in Puttur as part of the government’s plan to establish a medical college in the city. The project has received approval from the finance department through the medical education department, following its announcement in the 2025-26 Budget, MLA Ashok Kumar Rai said.
The finance department approved the project on November 27, and land has already been allocated for the medical college. A detailed project report (DPR) for the hospital is expected to be ready within 45 days, with the tender process for construction likely to be completed within two months. After that, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will lay the foundation stone for the project.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, he claimed, "When they were in power, they couldn't take up the initiative of establishing a medical college in Puttur. With the finance department giving its approval for the project, the Opposition party leaders should stop mocking and criticising. The Chief Minister has kept his promise of starting a medical college in Puttur."
