Husband alleges treatment delay after woman dies at MGM Hospital Warangal

Medical Negligence
Warangal: A 55-year-old woman died while undergoing treatment at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Hospital in Warangal, following which her husband lodged a police complaint alleging medical negligence and seeking an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
According to reports, the deceased, a resident of NTR Nagar within the limits of Enumamula, had been admitted to the government hospital for treatment. Her husband has alleged that doctors failed to provide timely medical attention and that delays in responding to her condition contributed to her death.
In his written complaint to the police, he sought a detailed inquiry into the treatment provided to his wife during her hospital stay. The family wants investigators to examine whether the medical team responded appropriately to her condition and whether the necessary interventions were carried out without delay.
The complaint has also raised concerns over the quality of care available at government-run healthcare facilities. The family said that poor and middle-class people place great trust in government hospitals, and any negligence in medical services puts ordinary people’s lives at risk. They demanded a thorough inquiry into the circumstances that led to the woman's death, The Hans India reported.
The woman's relatives have demanded that the authorities establish the sequence of events leading to her death and determine whether any lapse occurred during treatment. They have also sought legal action against those found responsible, if the allegations of negligence are substantiated.
The investigation is expected to examine her medical records, including the treatment administered, the timeline of medical interventions and the response of doctors to her condition. These details may help establish whether there was any delay in care and what led to her death.
The family's allegations have not yet been independently established. The cause of death and whether any medical negligence contributed to it will need to be determined through an impartial inquiry.
