SVIMS Hospital gets Diagnostic Equipment worth Rs 22 crore

SVIMS Hospital
Tirupati: The Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has donated advanced diagnostic equipment worth ₹22.01 crore to the Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), a TTD-run super-speciality hospital in Tirupati. The contribution, made under IOCL’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, is expected to greatly enhance the hospital’s capacity to serve economically disadvantaged patients.
Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri virtually inaugurated the new medical equipment on Thursday, July 17. The event was attended in person by TTD Trust Board Chairman B.R. Naidu, TUDA Chairman C. Divakar Reddy, IOCL Marketing Director Satish Kumar, and SVIMS Director and Vice-Chancellor Dr. R.V. Kumar, among others.

The newly installed 3TESLA MRI scanner and 4D CT simulator will enable SVIMS to diagnose and treat nearly 2.5 lakh poor patients every year at nominal charges. These technologies are particularly valuable for accurately detecting and monitoring tumours without causing side effects.
IOCL Marketing Director Satish Kumar lauded SVIMS for its outreach to the underprivileged and pledged continued support for its future healthcare initiatives. Speaking to the Hindu, SVIMS Director Dr. R.V. Kumar said that the hospital provided medical education exclusively to girl students by running Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women.
