Submit revised, supplementary price list in Form VI: NPPA tells medical devices makers, importers
New Delhi: The apex drug price regulator, the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), recently issued a notification directing all manufacturers/importers of medical devices to submit/issue their revised price list and supplementary price list in form-VI to dealers, State Drugs Controllers, and the government, indicating any changes, as per the provisions of Para 24 (3) and Para 25 (2) of the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013.
This was followed by the Gazette Notification No. S.O. 2899 (E) dated 20th July 2021, amending the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013 by including Form-VI "Proforma for Price List of Medical Devices".
Through the above said Gazette Notification No. S.O. 2899 (E) dated 20th July 2021, the Central Government inserted the Form VI in paragraph 24, in sub-paragraph (3), after the word and figure "Form-V" and in paragraph 25, in sub-paragraph (2), after the word and figure "Form-V", in the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013 by exercising the powers conferred by Section 3 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 (10 of 1955).
Paragraph 24 of the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013 deals with the prices fixed or revised by the government and Paragraph 25 of the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013 deals with the prices of non-scheduled formulations and price lists.
According to the Gazette Notification, in the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013, in Schedule-II, after Form-V, the following FORM shall be inserted, namely:
