Alkem Laboratories Appoints Pharma Veteran Dr Amrut Naik as Chief Executive Officer

The appointment was approved by the company’s Board of Directors at its meeting held on November 3,2026,based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.

As per the regulatory filing, Dr Naik’s appointment will take effect from November 11,2026. His term of appointment will continue for the duration of his employment with the company.

Dr Amrut Naik is a seasoned global pharmaceutical business leader with over 26 years of hands-on experience in building, scaling and transforming global businesses. His professional experience spans branded formulations, generics, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs),biologics, vaccines, specialty pharmaceuticals and innovation-led portfolios.

Academically, Dr Naik holds a PhD (Tech) in Pharmacology, a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Science.

The company further disclosed that there are no relationships between Dr Naik and the existing directors of Alkem Laboratories.

Alkem Laboratories Limited was established in 1973 and is a global pharmaceutical company engaged in the development, manufacturing and marketing of pharmaceutical products. The company has a presence in more than 40 countries, with a portfolio of over 800 brands and more than 1,300 stock-keeping units (SKUs) across various therapeutic segments.

The company operates 20 manufacturing units and has three global research and development centres supported by more than 500 scientists. Its workforce comprises over 25,000 employees. Alkem’s business portfolio includes generic and speciality pharmaceutical products, with operations spanning domestic and international markets.

For the financial year 2025-26,the company reported consolidated revenue of Rs 14,712.3 crore, compared with Rs 12,964.5 crore in the previous financial year, according to its financial disclosures.
