No admit card- Delhi court defers interim bail plea hearing of NEET paper leak accused seeking to write re-exam

High Court Appoints Retired Judge to Investigate Advocate’s Death and Hospital Violence
Delhi: While hearing the interim bail plea of an accused in the NEET UG paper leak case, a Delhi court has adjourned the hearing on his bail plea prematurely because an admit card for the NEET UG exam has not yet been issued to him.
However, the matter will be heard again on June 16. The Rouse Avenue Court was hearing Yadav's plea seeking interim bail to appear for an examination.
According to the TOI media news report, the court noted during the hearing that an admit card for the examination had not been issued to Yadav. The judge also asked the defence whether they had confirmed with the National Testing Agency (NTA) whether he would be permitted to take the exam despite being an accused in the case.
This matter came to light after the court granted his plea on June 2, in which he had sought permission to keep books for NEET-UG preparation while in custody. His lawyers had informed the court that he needed study material because the exam was scheduled for June 21.
Earlier, Special Judge (CBI) Ajay Gupta had sought a response from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) regarding Yadav's plea for 15 days of interim bail. Apart from appearing for the NEET-UG examination, Yadav had also sought bail to attend his sister's wedding.
Yadav was arrested after an FIR was registered on May 12 based on a complaint by a government official. According to the complaint, another accused, Khairnar, was the first to leak the paper to Yadav.
Subsequently, Biwal first contacted Khairnar to obtain the question paper for his son, but later acquired the leaked paper from Yadav for ₹10 lakh.
During interrogation, the son allegedly told investigators that he had come into contact with Yadav during coaching classes in Sikar.
The charges in this case fall under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Prevention of Corruption Act, and laws related to the use of unfair means in examinations.
