Haryana Health minister Aarti Singh Rao elected president of Para Sports Association of state

Along with Aarti Singh Rao as President, Abhijeet Singh was elected Vice-President, Pawan Kumar General Secretary, Advocate Sachin Malik Joint Secretary and Bhim Singh Treasurer.
Panchkula: Haryana Health Minister Aarti Singh Rao was unanimously elected President of the Para Sports Association of the state (PSAH) during the association's Governing Body elections held at Red Bishop Hotel in Panchkula.
The elections were conducted under the supervision of Returning Officer Advocate Vinay Yadav, who oversaw the process to ensure free and transparent polling. Devakar, Joint Secretary of the Paralympic Committee of India (PCI), attended the proceedings as the official observer.
Along with Aarti Singh Rao as President, Abhijeet Singh was elected Vice-President, Pawan Kumar General Secretary, Advocate Sachin Malik Joint Secretary and Bhim Singh Treasurer. The Executive Committee includes Jyoti Kumar, Surender Kumar, Rahul Singh, Vimal Yadav and Narsi Ram.
Members of the association expressed confidence that under the leadership of Health Minister Aarti Singh Rao, the association would strengthen Haryana's position in para sports and create more opportunities for para athletes to excel at national and international events.
The meeting also acknowledged the contribution of union minister Rao Inderjit Singh, stating that his continued guidance and support enabled the association to acquire its first permanent office, which is expected to provide a major boost to its activities.
Speakers noted that Rao Inderjit Singh had earlier served as president of the Paralympic Committee of India, during which the committee secured its permanent headquarters in New Delhi and enhanced its international standing, giving fresh impetus to the growth of para sports in the country.
Among those present were Girraj Singh, founder of the Para Sports Association of Haryana, Asian medallist Sudhir Kumar, Sangram Dahiya, Gaurav Solanki, coach Dharmendra, life members Manish Kumar, Dharmendra Sindhwani, Durgpal, Saloni Kumari, Virender Singh, Harsh Kumar and other members and office-bearers.
In her address after the election, Aarti Singh Rao thanked the members for reposing confidence in her and said the new governing body would work with full commitment to safeguard the interests of para-athletes, promote emerging talent and ensure that Haryana's para-sportspersons receive better training, infrastructure and opportunities to compete successfully at national and international levels.
