Himachal medico shines in AIIMS PG entrance exam, scores 99.1 percentile
Kinnaur: With her exceptional achievement of 99.1 percentile in the AIIMS-PG entrance exams, Shraddha Negi from Himachal has made everyone proud and successfully secured a seat in Radiodiagnosis and Interventional Radiology, a popular disciplines in the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Jodhpur in Rajasthan.
The 22-year-old medico is a resident of Tranda village, Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, and her father worked for Indian Defense Services of Engineers. Negi appeared for NEET PG in July 2021 and outshined many other open category-post-graduate medical aspirants.
Her dream was to become a diagnostic and intervention radiologist, and she had to face serious competition as it is one of the most sought-after PG medical courses in India.
Shraddha told News View Post that she wants to use her specialized medical knowledge in the future to serve the ailing and suffering who can not effort treatment easily. She especially wants to ensure proper healthcare for the tribal people of Kinnaur so that they can get treatment for various kinds of diseases.
Previously in January 2021 also, Shraddha Negi appeared for the AIIMS-PG exams with a score of 98 percentile and also secured admission in AIIMS at Rishikesh. However, she was not satisfied with her ranking and institution, she appeared again and secured a seat in AIIMS at Jodhpur which was her first preference, reports the daily. Shraddha Negi's elder sister Sunanda Negi is also pursuing a post-graduate course in medical science.
Shraddha's exceptional achievement in medical science despite being from a small town, will motivate girls of the tribal region of Kinnaur to strive for specialized knowledge.
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Postgraduate) is a qualifying and ranking examination in India, for students who wish to study various postgraduate Doctor of Medicine, Master of Surgery and diploma courses, in government or private medical colleges in the country.
