2 men arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting NEET MDS aspirant in Ranchi

Following the incident, she filed an FIR on the very same day. Based on the student's statement, an FIR was registered under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

According to the police, the dentist had gone to an apartment to attend a friend's birthday party, where two of the host's friends allegedly sexually assaulted her while she was intoxicated.

However, after committing the crime, both accused attempted to flee. In this regard, DSP (City) K.V. Raman told the TOI that these two absconding accused were arrested in Kharagpur on Tuesday and subsequently brought to Ranchi on transit remand.

Meanwhile, Inspector Rupesh Kumar Singh has informed that the victim's medical examination has been conducted. In her statement, the survivor alleged that she was assaulted after being intoxicated at the party and then raped.

Currently, the police are conducting a thorough investigation into this matter and are interrogating both accused individuals. Further detailed information regarding the crime will emerge only after the interrogation of the accused.

The surviving individual, who hailed from another city, was preparing for the MDS entrance examination.

Medical Dialogues had recently reported that a nurse working at a private hospital in Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal district accused a doctor of repeatedly sexually assaulting her since 2022. The doctor reportedly worked at the facility as a hospital administrator. Police registered a case and initiated an investigation, officials informed.

According to Kotwali police station SHO Gajendra Singh, the FIR was lodged on March 20 based on a written complaint submitted by the nurse.
