IVF centres will be opened in government medical colleges in MP : Education Minister Vishvas Sarang
Nagpur: The health department of Madhya Pradesh has decided to establish IVF centres in the government sector for the first time in the state. As part of it, in-vitro fertilization centres would be opened in six medical colleges in the next three months, said the state medical education minister Vishvas Sarang.
The proposal regarding the same have been invited from the six medical colleges, reports the Free Press Journal.

The six medical colleges where the plan to set up IVF centers include Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal; Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Medical College, Indore; Gajra Raja Medical College, Gwalior; Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College, Jabalpur; Shyam Shah Medical College, Rewa; Bundelkhand Medical College, Sagar.
"In private sector, IVF costs Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh. The state government has constituted state level board and I am one of its members. We will make a comprehensive plan. We will start teaching and training for IVF centers in medical colleges," stated IVF center, Arera Colony, MDm Dr Randhir Singh.
The IVF centers allow individuals to conceive through medical procedures, in which the egg is fertilized by a sperm in a lab to produce a baby.
Noting that IVF is an important aspect in present times, the state medical education minister said that they would be beginning the IVF unit immediately in medical colleges. He added, "We are coming with specialized services in medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh. Cathlabs will also be opened in medical colleges. We are committed to developing tertiary health care in the state."
