Rajasthan man arrested for cheating students of lakhs in medical admission scam

Ward Boy Arrested
Rajasthan: In a recent fraud case from Rajasthan, the Police recently arrested a man who had duped several students of lakhs of rupees by promising them medical admission and online course subscription.
The accused has been identified as Khan, a resident of Alwar. Currently, the Police have taken him into custody following complaints from several students who were duped.
According to officials, Khan allegedly used social media and other digital platforms to lure young students with the promise of guaranteed admission to medical courses. He also took money without fulfilling promises or providing refunds.
According to an IndiaToday news report, a police officer said that the investigation began after a complaint was filed on an online complaint portal. The officer informed that the accused targeted students through social media, promising them confirmed admissions and online course subscriptions. Initial investigations have revealed that several students were defrauded.
Meanwhile, police are examining his mobile phone, bank accounts, and online transaction records. Authorities have warned that more cases could emerge as the investigation continues.
Following this incident, the police have asked students and parents to thoroughly verify any online claims related to courses, jobs or admissions before transferring money and to immediately report any suspicious activity to the police.
Medical Dialogues recently reported a similar case where fraudsters duped a man of Rs 6.30 lakh by promising him an MBBS admission for his daughter.
Meanwhile, on the orders of the Superintendent of Police, an FIR has been registered against the accused at the City Police Station on charges of fraud and embezzlement.
The victim had been identified as a resident of the city's Mewatiyan Mohalla, Uttar Pradesh. According to the complaint, he was seeking an MBBS admission for his daughter. Therefore, he spoke with his relative, who introduced him to the accused, a resident of Jagdishpur, Amethi.
