Dharamshala: In a major push for integrated healthcare in Himachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Shri Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu laid the foundation stone for a 50-bed integrated AYUSH hospital at the District Ayurvedic Hospital in Dharamshala.
The proposed hospital is expected to strengthen the healthcare infrastructure in the region and improve access to AYUSH-based treatment services for residents. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the state government is working to expand healthcare facilities by bringing together modern medical services and traditional systems of medicine.
He said the upcoming integrated AYUSH hospital would help provide patients with broader treatment options under one facility. The project is also expected to support the delivery of Ayurveda and other AYUSH services in a more organised and accessible manner, reports TOI.
According to the Minister, the state government is committed to improving public healthcare and ensuring that people receive quality services closer to their homes. He said the integration of AYUSH-based care with existing healthcare systems would benefit patients seeking traditional and holistic treatment approaches.

The development of the 50-bed facility is likely to enhance treatment capacity at the District Ayurvedic Hospital and support patients from Dharamshala and adjoining areas. The project is also expected to contribute to the wider promotion of AYUSH systems in the state’s healthcare framework.
Later, the Chief Minister also inaugurated a shopping complex and entertainment centre at Charan. The facility has been developed by Dharamshala Smart City Limited at a cost of Rs 7.5 crore.
He said the new centre would provide residents access to shopping, entertainment and other essential services under one roof. The facility is also expected to reduce the need for residents to travel long distances for basic requirements.
The Chief Minister further added that the centre would increase footfall in the area and create new business opportunities for nearby shopkeepers and small entrepreneurs, contributing to local economic activity.
