To expand Ayurveda's reach, Monalisa Das directed the National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA), Panchkula, to develop a structured public outreach strategy.
According to a UNI report, she instructed the institute to share patient recovery stories on social media to build public confidence in Ayurveda. She also emphasised strengthening research, improving treatment quality, and promoting evidence-based practices to enhance the accessibility and credibility of traditional healthcare.

Dean Prof. Gulab Chand Pamnani and DMS Dr Gaurav Garg welcomed the Joint Secretary and briefed her on the institute’s healthcare, academic, and research activities. They said the OPD serves over 500 patients daily and highlighted the availability of specialised Panchakarma therapies supported by advanced diagnostic laboratory facilities.
During the inspection, Das visited the Registration Unit, Pharmacy, OPD, IPD, Panchakarma Department, and Central Laboratory. She also spoke with admitted patients to gather direct feedback on treatment quality and healthcare services. The Joint Secretary commended the institute’s cleanliness, patient-centric approach, and medical services. She noted that increasing public trust in Ayurveda highlights the importance of integrating traditional medicine with scientific, evidence-based methods.
She encouraged doctors and faculty to strengthen research and continuously improve treatment standards. Emphasising the importance of public awareness, she recommended that the institute develop a dedicated communication strategy to promote Ayurveda.
She advised regularly sharing authentic patient testimonials on social media to boost public confidence and encourage wider adoption of Ayurveda as a reliable healthcare option.
Prof Pamnani stated that the National Institute of Ayurveda, under the Ministry of AYUSH’s guidance, plays a key role in advancing Ayurveda education, quality healthcare, and research-driven treatment.
