Speaking at Launch of the Unit , Prof Dr Lalit Makhija, said “Management of Burns is a long process. Apart from having a Mortality due immediate shock of burns, it has a very high morbidity associated with it as well . This basically means that even after reaching the hospital and treatment being started, burns patients are still susceptible to their injuries and infection that leads to Septicemia and therefore require continuous and dedicated attention to cater to their injuries. Sometimes, this process can even go on for months, till the patient finally recovers. We are happy that Sanjeevan Hospital has taken this step to address this growing issue by setting up a dedicated unit for Burns Management.”
