NEET PG 2026: Upload recent photograph, correct signature, thumb impression or risk application rejection- Check NBE guidelines

According to the NEET PG 2026 information bulletin, images which are not as per the prescribed specifications shall not be considered and may lead to rejection of the application. Please ensure that the uploaded photograph is a recent photograph and, in any case, should not have been taken more than 03 months before the date of application submission.

Uploading a photograph which is not a recent one or which is not as per prescribed image upload guidelines as detailed in this information bulletin and/or failure to rectify the same in the final edit window shall invite rejection of the application

PHOTOGRAPH

1 Confirm that the system used to fill the form has an in-built camera/webcam.

2 Be properly dressed in formal attire.

3 Stand/sit against a white background (Avoid distracting backgrounds)

4 There should be bright light falling on your face but not on the webcam.

5 No objects should be behind you while capturing the photograph through the webcam. The image must not include other objects or additional people. Ensure that you are only one person in the picture.

6 The image must contain the full face, ears, neck, and shoulders of the entrant in frontal view with a neutral, non-smiling expression and with eyes open and directed at the camera.

7 The image must not contain any parts of the body below the entrant's shoulders.

8 Click on the “Capture Photo” button in the application form.

9 Transfer the photograph from the digital device to a computer/laptop.

10 The photograph is in colour with a white background.

11 Your face is clearly visible.

12 The size of the image should be less than 80kb. The size of the image can be checked by right-clicking on the image and then going to the “Properties” link. (Maintain aspect ratio, i.e. height and width ratio to avoid distortion of image)

13 Image is in .jpg/.jpeg format.

14 Image is not blurred in the process of editing.

15 Digital enhancement or other alterations or retouching are not permitted.

16 Make sure your face takes up at least 70-80% of the frame.

17 The image must not contain any parts of the body below the entrant's shoulders. Images having parts of the body below the shoulder shall be rejected.

18 The image must contain the full face, ears, neck, and shoulders of the entrant in frontal view with a neutral, non-smiling expression and with eyes open and directed at the camera.

19 No object should be in the background. The image must not include other objects or additional people. Ensure that you are only one person in the picture. Images having any object in the background shall be rejected.

20 Stand/sit against a white background (Avoid distracting backgrounds).

SIGNATURE

1 Draw a box of size 1.5 cm (height) x 3.5 cm (width). Use a black or dark blue ink pen to sign within this box.

2 Click the signature within the box in bright light conditions using any digital device (preferably with > 5-megapixel resolution). Avoid using flash.

3 Check that the shadow of your hands/camera/smartphone, etc. does not fall on the sheet.

4 Transfer the digital image to a computer/laptop.

5 If required, use the auto-correct feature of image editing software so that the signature is clear against a white background.

6 Crop the image such that the borders of the box are reached.

7 Resize the image to less than 80 KB (maintain aspect ratio, i.e. height and width ratio to avoid distortion of the image).

8 The candidate should provide his/her complete signatures and not just initials.

9 The signatures should be done by the candidates only, as they may be checked frequently at any time.

10 Signature done on a blank white page without lines only will be accepted

11 Take the white sheet and mark the box size of 3.5 x 1.5 cm (width x height)

12 Sign inside the box with a blue/black pen.

13 If the Candidate’s signature on the answer script, at the time of the examination, does not match the signature on the Attendance Sheet, the candidate will be disqualified.

14 Set the scanner to 200 dpi

15 The scanned image should be saved in .jpeg/.jpg format.

16 Crop only the box area and not the complete white page.

17 The size of the image should be less than 80kb.

THUMB IMPRESSION

1 Draw a box of 3.5 cm x 1.5 cm (width x height) on a white sheet of paper (you may draw more than 1 box to take multiple thumbprints and select the best).

2 Use a fresh blue/black colour ink pad.

3 Practice on a sheet of paper to get the proper thumbprint, especially the density or darkness of the colour. The impression of the print should be clear and readable; neither dark nor smudged nor light.

4 Clean your hands and dry them before you begin (oil/dirt can obscure the prints).

5 Gently press your left thumb against the ink pad and take a horizontal print of your left thumb within the box. Do not press too much or wriggle, as it may lead to smudging of the print.

6 Set the scanner to 200 dpi.

7 Save the scanned image of the thumbprint in .jpg/.jpeg format.

8 Crop only the box area.

9 The size of the image should be less than 80kb. The size of the image can be checked by right-clicking on the image and then going to the “Properties” link.
