Tamil Nadu: Tamil Nadu Health (TN Health) has invited online applications For Post-Doctoral Fellowship Courses in Minimal Access Surgery and Gynaec Oncology for the 2023-24 session.

The last date for submission of the online application is 23.11.2023, up to 5 PM. Incomplete applications are not accepted. A candidate shall submit only one application form for admission. The date of allotment of seats (In person) will be announced later. The last date for admission will be the time mentioned in the allotment order of the candidate.

The candidates will have to pay the non-refundable application fee of Rs. 2500. There is no application fee in respect of SC / SCA / ST Candidates. Method of all fee payments through online payment portal only. Candidates have to pay the application fee online via Debit card / Credit card/ Net Banking or RTGS.

Only self-attested photocopies of Certificates should be enclosed. Candidates must upload only self-attested Photocopies of the following documents in the order indicated below –

1. The Postgraduate course completion certificate from the parent College where the candidate had undergone the post-graduate degree course.

2. Post Graduate Degree Certificate / provisional certificate awarded by the University concerned to which the Institution is affiliated.

3. Permanent Medical Registration Certificate of the MBBS Degree

4. Additional qualification registration certificate for postgraduate degree issued by the All India Medical Council or State Medical Council.

5. Post Graduate Degree attempt certificate obtained from the institution where the candidate completed his/her PG Degree.

6. Eligibility certificate from Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University for candidates who have qualified from other Universities. This shall be produced at the time of Counseling when called for.

7. TNPSC/MRB (selected through competitive written examination) Selection & Posting Order (For Service Candidates).

8. Nativity certificate.

9. NEET SS 2023 scorecard issued by the National Board of Examination.

Service Candidates should upload their Service Proforma forwarded only through the proper channel with the remarks of the forwarding authorities in the format prescribed in the application form. If not, the applications will not be accepted. Application of the Service candidates who have completed two years of continuous regular service as of 31.10.2023 alone will be considered. The Heads of Departments have to issue a Certificate of completion of the required service. The application should reach within the stipulated time.

Medical Officers selected by the TNPSC / MRB (through competitive written examination) and appointed in Tamil Nadu Medical Services on a regular basis who have put in a minimum of two years of continuous regular service as of 31.10.2023 alone are eligible.

Medical Officers serving continuously for two years in Local Bodies of Tamil Nadu as of 31.10.2023 are eligible.

Candidates should produce the additional qualification registration certificate for their postgraduate degree from the Indian Medical Council or the respective State Medical Council at the time of applying.

Eligibility –

1. The candidate must be a Citizen of India and a native of Tamil Nadu

2. Candidates who are natives of other States are not eligible to apply

3. Candidates who had studied their undergraduate and Post Graduate courses in Tamil Nadu are eligible to apply and need to produce the Nativity Certificate Candidates who had studied from other States shall produce the Nativity Certificate from Tamil Nadu

4. Candidates who had studied from other States shall produce the Nativity Certificate from Tamil Nadu

5. The Certificate of Nativity in Tamil Nadu should be issued by the competent authority only and supported by a copy of a Passport / Aadhar Card/ Voter’s ID/ Driving License. If a copy of the supporting document is not produced, then the application form will be rejected. The Nativity Certificate submitted later will be summarily rejected

6. Candidates must have qualified in NEET SS 2023 in the Specialty of “Surgical Gastroenterology” for Minimal Access Surgery and “GynaecOncology for GynaecOncology conducted by the National Board of Examination (NBE)

7. Candidates who hold an M.S. (General Surgery) of the Tamil Nadu Dr M.G.R. Medical University or of any other University recognized as equivalent to the Tamil Nadu Dr M.G.R. Medical University and included in the schedules of the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 or who hold DNB (General Surgery) from the National Board of Examination and who have obtained full registration either from the Medical Council of India or any of the State Medical Councils are alone eligible to apply for Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery Course

Non-service candidates, if selected, will have to abide by the Government rules in vogue

Non-eligible –

Candidates who have obtained the P.G. Degree from Medical Colleges not recognized by the MCI are not eligible.

Seats vacant –

6 seats are vacant for both courses. Minimal Access Surgery has 4 seats, and GynaecOncology has 2 seats vacant.

Duration –

The duration of the Fellowship Course is two years.

Declaration of merit list –

The Secretary, Selection Committee will prepare the merit list based on the marks secured in NEET SS 2023 in the Specialty of “Surgical Gastroenterology”/M.Ch.(Gynaec Oncology)

Determination of inter se merit (rank) of candidates obtaining equal marks –

In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks in the total aggregate of 100 marks, the Inter-se merit (Rank) of such candidates shall be determined on the basis of the following order of preference –

1. Least number of appearances in the Postgraduate Degree examination

2. Seniority in age

Method of selection and admission –

The final preparation of the selection list/waiting list for admission of candidates will be made on the basis of the merit list. The Selection will be made by Counseling based on Merit only, and no communal reservation will be followed.

50% of seats are reserved for service candidates, in addition to those service candidates who have been selected in the open category.

If no Non-service candidate opted, the same will be allotted to service candidates.

If no Service candidate opted, the same will be allotted to Non-service candidates.

The candidates appearing for allotment by personal appearance should bring the documents enclosed along with the application in original. In any case, candidates without original certificates/documents shall not be allowed to participate in the counseling. Candidates who have deposited their original documents to Institutions / Universities and come for counseling with a certificate stating that “their original certificates are submitted to institution/ University” will NOT be allowed to participate in the counseling.

The candidates who are selected at the time of counseling shall pay the total fees of Rs.100000 for the two years Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery Course by way of Demand Draft drawn in favor of the DEAN, MMC, MINIMAL ACCESS SURGERY/The Director, Institute of Obstetrics & Gynaecology payable at Chennai, at the time of receipt of the allotment order. This fee is not refundable.

All candidates attending the counseling have to remit a non-refundable amount of Rs. 1000 by online payment method available on the Selection Committee website as a processing fee.

The candidates who discontinue the course shall pay discontinuation fees of 5 lakhs by way of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of “The Secretary, Selection Committee, Kilpauk, Chennai -10” payable at Chennai.

Candidates who join the course and discontinue the course on any grounds after the cut-off date are eligible to apply only after a period of 2 years from the date of discontinuation of the course.

The admissions for 2023-2024 will close on the cutoff date as per the Guidelines issued by the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai – 32.

Fee –

1. Tuition Fees - 30,000/- p.a

2. Library Fees - 10,000/- p.a

3. Annual Appraisal Fee - 10,000/- p.a.

Stipend –

All service candidates selected will be paid a stipend/salary as per the Government Orders in force. For Non-service candidates, the course is stipendary as per the Government Orders in force for Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery Course. No Salary / Stipend shall be paid to the Service / Non-Service candidates for Post-Doctoral Fellowship Course in Gynaec Oncology

The candidates joining the course are bound by the regulations issued by The Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University.
