Tanda Medical College revamp: Estimated budget of Rs 68 crore passed, Vacant posts to be filled soon

Dharamsala: An estimated budget of Rs 68 crore was passed for the current financial year under the Rogi Kalyan Samiti for the strengthening of health services in Dr Rajendra Prasad Medical College, Tanda.

Stating this while presiding over the annual meeting of the patient welfare committee of Dr Rajendra Prasad Medical College on Tuesday, state Health Minister Dr Rajiv Saizal said that under the Rogi Kalyan Samiti, provision has been made for Rs 10 crore medicines, Rs 5 crore surgical kits, Rs 1 crore for repair of buildings and other works, Rs 1.5 crore for bedding clothing and Rs 50 lakhs for machinery.

He said that now state-of-the-art testing facilities will also be provided in Dr Rajendra Prasad Medical College, along with necessary guidelines have also been given for the repair of C T scan and MRI equipment.

The Minister said that the vacant posts in Tanda Medical College would also be filled in a phased manner so that the patients do not face any inconvenience. He said that instructions have also been given to take special care of cleanliness in Tanda Medical College.

Dr Saizal said that effective steps are being taken to provide best health facilities in Dr Rajendra Prasad Medical College. He said that instructions have also been given to take full care of the Covid protocol. He said that proper arrangements have been made for the treatment of Covid infected in Tanda Medical College along with necessary equipments have also been made available.

He said that sufficient number of beds including oxygen calendars and ventilators are also available in Tanda Medical College.

Earlier, Tanda Medical College Principal Dr Bhanu Awasthi, while welcoming the chief guest, informed about the achievements of the Medical College's patient welfare committee and presented a detailed report about the estimated budget of the current year.
