GPAT 2024 Provisional Answer Key OUT, Result To Be Declared Soon
New Delhi- Recently, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has published the Recorded Response and Provisional Answer Key of the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) for the 2024 session on its official website.
Candidates can now challenge/raise objections to any question/provisional answer key. The provisional answer key/questions can be challenged between the 15th to 17th of June 2024. However, this challenge can only be done after making a non-refundable online payment of Rs 200 per question/challenge as a processing fee. Only payment challenges made during the stipulated time will be considered.
On this, through an official notice, NBE has clearly stated that “The subject matter experts will examine all the challenges received from candidates and then the final answer keys for GPAT-2024 will be displayed. No claims pertaining to the difficulty level of a question shall be entertained. This challenge can only be raised by bona fide candidates who have appeared in the examination”.
With this, the decision of the NBEMS on the challenges will be final and no further communication will be entertained. NBEMS shall not inform the candidates individually about the outcome of their challenges.
Meanwhile, the results will be compiled based on the final answer key and declared will be based on that. The GPAT for the 2024 session result will be declared by July 8, 2024. No grievance with regard to Answer Key(s) after the declaration of the result of GPAT-2024 will be entertained. The marks obtained by a candidate on the basis of the final answer keys will be considered for computation of the result of GPAT-2024 and generation of GPAT scores & merit.
The GPAT for the 2024 session was conducted on 8th June 2024 (Saturday) at 176 centres across the country. As per the official notice, a total of 39341 candidates appeared in the exam out of 40548 registered candidates.
As per the information bulletin, the details of the marking scheme and counselling and reservation of GPAT for the 2024 session are given below-

1 There shall be a 25% negative marking for incorrect answers. No marks will be deducted for unattempted questions.
2 The question paper for GAPT will be divided into multiple time-bound sections. For example, if there are 5-time bound sections* (Section A, B, C, D & E) in the question paper, each Section will have 25 questions and 36 minutes allotted for the section. Candidates would be restricted to proceed to the next section only after completion of the allotted time of the previous section and candidates would not be allowed to review the questions/modify the responses of a section after the completion of the allotted time of that section. Questions of the next section will start automatically after the completion of the allotted time of the previous section.
3 Candidates will be given the option to mark any question, whether attempted or not, for review which means that the candidate has been given an option to go through these questions in a section again before the allotted time to a section ends. Candidates may note that such questions which are marked for review shall be evaluated as per the marking scheme mentioned above.
COUNSELLING AND RESERVATION
1 In the case of Institutes run by the Central Government, the reservation would be applicable as mentioned below:
i 15% of the seats for Scheduled Castes (SC) candidates.
ii 7.5% seats for Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates.
iii 27% seats for Other Backward Classes (OBC) Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) candidates as per the Central List.
iv 10% of the seats for General Economically Weaker Sections (General - EWS) candidates.
2 Each category will have 5% reservations for the candidates with 40% or more disability.
3 In the case of the Institutes run/aided/recognised by State Governments, the reservation policy of the respective State Governments shall be applicable.
4 OBC - NCL (Non-Creamy Layer) as per the Central list of OBC alone are eligible to claim OBC reservation in the counselling/admission. All OBC applicants for GPAT are accordingly advised to indicate their category as OBC in the application form only if their caste belongs to the Central list of OBCs and they fall under the non-creamy layer.
5 ।NBEMS has no role in counselling for admission to the Masters (M.Pharma) program. Candidates must apply separately to the desired GPAT-2024 Participating institutions with the GPAT Score 2024. Thereafter, each Participating Institute will release its respective cut-off GPAT Scores which a candidate should meet to qualify for admission to that particular Institution.
6 Candidates are advised to read the details of the admission process of each Participating Institute of GPAT-2024 on their respective websites. The participating Institutions of GPAT-2024 are the Institutions which will be accepting the GPAT Scores.
7 Admission to PG courses are undertaken by the State Government/ State admission committee. NBEMS has no role whatsoever in the conduct of counselling for admission to M. Pharm/ PhD courses utilising GPAT scores.
