Telangana Govt sanctions establishment of 7 new medical colleges, 7,007 posts to be filled

Apart from giving a nod to the establishment of medical colleges, following the proposal of the HM & FW Department, the State government has sanctioned 7007 posts in various categories for the newly proposed medical colleges in the State.

As per various media reports, Finance Ministry in a Government Order issued on Wednesday had approved filing 2,135 posts in the seven new medical colleges on an outsourcing or contract basis. Most of the 2,135 posts are non-clinical as they are essential for the maintenance and upkeep of the new medical colleges.

The order issued by the Principal Secretary to Government, K. Ramakrishna Rao mentioned, "In the reference 2.1 read above, Government accorded administrative sanction for establishment of (7) new Government Medical Colleges at (1) Sangareddy (2) Mahabubabad (3) Mancherial (4) Wanaparthy (5) Bhadradri Kothagudem (6) Jagtial (7) Nagarkurnool under administrative control of Director of Medical Education, Telangana State, Hyderabad as per the NMC norms."

The order dated 24.06.2021 further mentioned that the HM&FW department had proposed the Government for creation of posts in the new medical colleges. "After careful examination of the proposal, Government hereby sanction (7007) posts in various categories for the above mentioned (7) new Government medical Colleges in the state under administrative control of Director of Medical Education, Telangana State, Hyderabad as shown in Annexure-1 to this order."

"The HM&FW Department shall obtain concurrence of Finance (HRM) Department before initiating measures to fill up posts sanctioned in this order, wherever service rules prescribe direct recruitment," further read the order.

As per the latest media report by New Indian Express, the Finance Department, in a Government order issued on Wednesday sanctioned for filling 2,135 posts in the seven new medical colleges on outsourcing or contract basis.

These posts include professors, associate professors and assistant professors, senior and junior residents in 34 specializations. After the Government Order issued by the Finance Department, the Health Department can now initiate the process of recruitment.

Telangana Today adds that a majority of these 2,135 posts are non-clinical posts, required for maintenance and upkeep of the new medical colleges.
