Police busts Racket cheating MBBS, BAMS aspirants with fake degrees, foreign admissions
Meerut- Two persons were recently arrested from Meerut for allegedly duping MBBS and BAMS aspirants by providing fake degrees and promising them admission abroad.
According to TOI report, the two accused have been identified as Bilal Ahmed (30) from Jaunpur and Suraj Prakash (32) from Ghaziabad. In the preliminary investigation, the police found that the accused charged students between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 15 lakh per fake certificate, promising them degrees from Kazakhstan, Romania and other countries.
In this regard, speaking to the TOI, SP (rural) Rakesh Kumar Mishra said that the matter came to light after Arpit Jain, a resident of Sardhana in Meerut, filed a complaint. He alleged that Prakash took Rs 5.8 lakh by promising to get him admission in MBBS in Romania, but later provided fake certificates to settle the matter.
Meanwhile, during investigation, the police have recovered fake migration certificates, mark sheets and degrees issued by Chaudhary Charan Singh University from him. Along with this, the digital evidence recovered from Prakash's phone contains data of many students who have obtained fake degrees. The police also seized three mobile phones and a laptop containing data of around 15 universities across India.
Further investigation led to the arrest of Bilal, who was operating under a fake identity named Brajesh Kumar. At present, an investigation is underway to identify others involved in the racket.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that a man was also duped of Rs 33 lakh by promising a PG medical seat for his daughter in Maulana Azad Medical College, (MAMC), New Delhi. On this, Medical Dialogues has reported that the victim, a resident of Sri Vijaya Puram, filed a complaint at the Pahargaon Police Station, claiming that the accused is a resident of New Delhi and is working in the nursing office of Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi.
