Ajmer: Tensions escalated outside the Directorate of Ayurveda in Ajmer on Monday as nursing employees staged a protest against the proposed job chart prepared by the Ayurveda Department, alleging that it was drafted without involving nursing representatives.
The protesting nursing staff claimed the committee responsible for preparing the job chart did not include nursing representatives, leading to growing resentment among nursing staff.
Representatives of the State AYUSH Nursing Federation alleged that the committee included only members from the medical fraternity and failed to consider the responsibilities, workload and practical challenges faced by nursing staff at hospitals and healthcare centres. Federation state president Mr. Chheetar Mal Saini and struggle committee coordinator Mr. Dharmendra Phogat claimed the proposed structure was one-sided, impractical and prepared without proper consultation with nursing employees, reports Dainik Bhaskar.
The protesting employees stated that nurses play a central role in healthcare services, including patient care, emergency responsibilities, record maintenance, ward management and assistance during medical procedures. They argued that excluding nursing personnel from discussions regarding the job chart would negatively affect administrative planning, coordination and workplace efficiency in healthcare institutions.
Following the protest, officials assured nursing representatives that their concerns would be reviewed by the committee. The federation also demanded inclusion of nursing representatives in future discussions and consultations before finalising the proposed job chart.
The demonstration remained peaceful and was held outside the Ayurveda Directorate premises in Ajmer. Protesters urged the department to adopt a more consultative and inclusive approach while preparing service-related policies affecting nursing staff in the Ayurveda sector.
The nursing employees further stated that the proposed job chart should properly reflect the ground-level duties and responsibilities performed in hospitals and healthcare centres across the state. They emphasised that balanced participation from all stakeholder groups is necessary to prepare an effective, practical and widely acceptable framework for nursing services.
