Proposal submitted for Ayurveda wing at Dharamjaigarh Civil Hospital

Ayurveda Wing
Dharamjaigarh: A proposal has been made to establish an Ayurveda wing at the Civil Hospital in Dharamjaigarh, aimed at broadening healthcare services and providing patients access to traditional systems of medicine alongside existing allopathic treatment.
Ward No. 4 councillor Dr. Akhtari Khurshit Khan has urged the authorities to set up an Ayurveda facility within the Civil Hospital. The proposal recommends developing the wing under the National AYUSH Mission (NAM), the National Urban Health Mission, or with support from the state government.
According to Dr. Khan, the introduction of Ayurveda services would enhance the range of healthcare options available to local residents and address the growing demand for traditional and holistic treatment approaches. He noted that many patients seek Ayurvedic therapies for chronic ailments, preventive healthcare and lifestyle-related disorders, making the availability of such services at a government hospital beneficial for the community, reports Dainik Bhaskar.

The demand was formally submitted through a memorandum during the state government's Sushasan Tihar programme, a platform through which citizens can bring local issues, public grievances and developmental requirements to the attention of the administration.
Following the representation, the District AYUSH Office reviewed the proposal and subsequently communicated with the Director of AYUSH in Raipur, requesting consideration of the demand and necessary action on the matter.
The communication reportedly outlines the requirements for establishing the facility, including infrastructure arrangements, staffing provisions and other administrative support necessary for operationalising the Ayurveda wing. It also draws attention to the need for adequate resources and institutional support for the smooth functioning of the proposed unit.
Officials have requested approval and further directions from the competent authorities to facilitate the proposed expansion of services at the Civil Hospital and to enable the establishment of Ayurveda facilities for the benefit of residents.
