Nagpur: The aspirants of Ayush Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET), hailing from Maharashtra, had to travel to other States like Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Jammu, as the date of the examination clashed with MH-CET and the National Testing Agency (NTA) couldn't get adequate test centers in the State, reports TOI.

Meanwhile a clarification from NTA regarding the Allotment of Test Centers for AIAPGET placed the students in more dilemma as they feared that the test center could be changed again even one day before the exam.

NTA in its recent notice dated September 16 mentioned, "Efforts are made to allot Centre of Examination to the candidates in order of the City Choice opted by them in their Application Form. However, due to logistic & administrative reasons, a different city of nearby area may be allotted."

"In the instant case due to examinations for various organizations like CET in Maharashtra AIAPGET is clashing with them. NTA is facing difficulty for getting adequate Test Centres inspite of best efforts. Therefore some candidates have been allotted Centres beyond their choice," the clarification issued by Dr. Sadhana Parashar, Sr. Director of the Exams of NTA, added.

In fact, referring to the issue of allotting candidates with centers beyond their choice, the notice issued by Dr Parashar further added, "This clause is already mentioned in the Information bulletin of AIAPGET-2021 on page no-9 point no- 8.1."

As per the latest media report by the Times of India, after the issue started being highlighted on media, NTA hastily started the process of changing the examination center of many students on late Wednesday night. However, still the majority of the students were holding their admit cards with Ahmedabad, Bharuch, Bhopal and Vadodara as their centers.

Even though the students had approached the NTA, sources had already confirmed TOI that the chances of the examination being deferred were really low as the issue was limited to only one state, i.e. Maharashtra.

After the clarification was issued by NTA, several candidates started expressing their anguish over the issue and feared that there might be some last minute changes in the examination venue, which could be problematic for the students who wrote the exam on September 18.

"What if someone has already reached Gujarat and NTA changes his centre to Maharashtra a day before examination? Even the helpline number issued by the agency is not working," a doctor recently told the daily.

Amidst all this tension, the aspirants, on the scheduled date, wrote the exam, which is the common entrance exam for getting admissions to various postgraduate courses in Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy.
