NEET PG 2026 results: Dr Monish Kanna R bags AIR 1 with 641 marks, check top 10 rankers
As per the ranking, Dr Monish Kanna R from Chandigarh bagged All India Rank (AIR) 1, scoring 641 marks out of 720; Dr Pallakshi secured AIR 2 with 633 marks, while Dr Kajal got AIR 3 with 626 marks.
Dr Simar secured AIR 4 with 625 marks, followed by Dr Graceton at AIR 5 with 625 marks and Dr Dilip at AIR 6 with 625 marks. The candidate securing AIR 7 scored 625 marks, while Dr Smeet secured AIR 8 with 621 marks.
Dr Darshan secured AIR 9 with 620 marks, while the candidate at AIR 10 also scored 620 marks.

About the Toppers
Dr Monish Kanna R is an MBBS graduate of ESIC Medical College and PGIMSR, Coimbatore. He began preparing for NEET PG during his internship, initially focusing mainly on solving multiple-choice questions (MCQs). However, he later changed his approach after realising that question practice alone was not enough to cover the 19-subject postgraduate medical syllabus.
He then adopted a structured preparation strategy combining theory, daily MCQ practice and repeated revision. During his preparation, he attempted around 10,425 MCQs and 445 leaderboards, securing Rank 1 in 85 of them. He also maintained a notebook to record mistakes and revised his workbooks four to five times.
Dr Monish has said that his preparation also included a difficult phase when a disappointing result left him unable to study for several weeks. He later resumed his preparation after changing his study environment and focusing on sleep, exercise and recovery. His preparation eventually resulted in him securing All India Rank 1 with 641 marks out of 720.
Born in Ranchi and brought up in Hyderabad, Dr Pallakshi Prasad is a 28-year-old medical officer posted at Air Force Station Kanpur who secured All India Rank (AIR) 2.
She completed her schooling at Delhi Public School, Hyderabad and qualified NEET UG 2016 with an AIR of 1,312 without taking a drop year. She later joined the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) after securing Girls Merit Rank 3 in the selection process.
As per TOI report, Dr Pallakshi graduated from AFMC sixth in overall merit in her batch. She was commissioned into the Indian Navy on May 15, 2021, and served as a medical officer aboard a warship for nearly two and a half years. She later moved to the Indian Air Force in 2025 and has been posted in Kanpur since then.
Commenting on this, She said, "I used to study whenever time permitted. Between patients, after duty hours, through books and online platforms. It wasn't about long hours every day, but about being consistent."
Guided by mentor Dr Vineet Behera, a serving military doctor, she also presented a research paper on chronic kidney disease at the Bombay Medical Congress during her internship.
Following her NEET PG 2026 result, Pallakshi is considering radiology, internal medicine and dermatology for postgraduate specialisation.
Meanwhile, Dr Kajal Pathak, who secured All India Rank (AIR) 3 in NEET PG 2026, hails from Benipatti in Madhubani district of Bihar. She scored 626 marks out of 720 in the postgraduate medical entrance examination.
Dr Kajal completed her schooling in Benipatti and later emerged as the Madhubani district topper in the Bihar Board Intermediate Science examination, scoring 456 out of 500 marks. She then appeared for NEET UG 2020 and secured 670 marks out of 720, with an All India Rank of 1,211 and an EWS category rank of 77.
Based on her NEET UG performance, she secured admission to Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi, where she completed her MBBS. According to Live Hindustan report, she received three gold medals for her performance in different categories during her MBBS. She then began preparing for NEET PG during her internship after completing her MBBS.

The entrance examination, NEET PG is the gateway to PG medical courses in the country including Master of Surgery (MS), Doctor of Medicine (MD) as well as PG Diploma courses.
The NEET-PG 2026 examination was conducted on 30th August 2026 across the country for admission to various MD/MS/DNB/DrNB (Direct 6 Years Courses)/PG Medical Diploma Courses of 2026-27 admission session.
However, due to an internal power failure at iON Digital Zone iDZ Sitapura, Jaipur (TC Codes 41682 & 41683), the scheduled candidates at the aforesaid test centres could not complete their examination. Accordingly, a re-examination of the affected candidates was conducted on 5th September 2026 at Jaipur.
A total of 263544 candidates appeared on 30th August 2026, and 2416 candidates appeared on 5th September 2026.
Each and every question asked in both the question papers of NEET-PG 2026 was reviewed by faculty members from the concerned specialty area after the conduct of NEET-PG 2026 to re-check for technical correctness of the questions as well as answer keys. None of the questions have been found technically incorrect.
