When the doctor did not respond to the phone calls, they reached her place and found the door of her room locked from the inside. They then called the police, who came and broke the door. She was found lying dead in her room. A suicide note was found by the police and the forensic experts in her room.
The superintendent of police (SP), Shimla, Monika Bhutungru told HT, "In the note, the deceased has not blamed anyone for the suicide." She added, "The note found in the room has been sent for investigation. The cause of the death can only be ascertained after we get the autopsy report."
As per preliminary information, the doctor was reported to have been going through mental health problems and was undergoing treatment at the IGMC. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination. The police have also registered a case and have begun their investigation.
